Threes, Fours and Learning

Post on December 17, 2014 by

I have been asked to write a few Blogs to get our format right. The content of the ones I have chosen and most likely will continue to write will be based on random thoughts to tempt the ‘olde creative thinking juices’. So here goes.

A legend has it that things happen in threes. When they happen that way the superstitious amongst us are happy. If only two have happened the superstitious amongst us are not happy or nervous. However a few recent events seems to have supported the three theory.

People seem to come along in threes. There are the 3 Wise men, 3 Musketeers 3 Tenors, 3 Stooges. There are the trinity, troika and triumvirate. There are also shapes that are 3 sided. We call them triangles. If we make the triangles three-dimensional we get a pyramid with 3 sides. Or do we? If you think about it and add the base then the pyramid has four sides to it.

So what else comes in fours? Four seasons. For shapes in two-dimensions we have the square, rectangle, parallelogram, rhombus, trapezoid and kite. Putting them in 3 dimensions we have 6 sides. If you think about it most sports are played on a field, table or a court that is four sided in some form or another.

The most intriguing one that has four parts to it is the figure eight flow of energy and that is a whole subject for another day.

If we started from one and kept going we could discuss all the subliminal things that have an effect on us including in this case the whole scope of numerology.

If you need another point to all this, consider whether you would like to be trained or coached to sing by the 3 Stooges or the 3 Tenors. Learning should be fun but in the end Excellence begets excellence. You get excellence from people who have been there, not those who have only read it.
